Coastal Virginia notes
Heat pumps are ideal for our climate when sized and charged correctly. Variable-speed equipment improves summer dehumidification and steady winter comfort even as temperatures swing.
How a heat pump works (without the jargon)
An electric heat pump moves heat rather than creating it from scratch — pulling warmth from outdoor air in winter and reversing to cool in summer. Today’s variable-speed Carrier systems can adjust output finely for quieter operation, better humidity control, and higher efficiency.

FAQ
Why is my heat pump blowing cool air in winter?
Brief cool air during defrost can be normal. Persistent cold supply air needs a diagnostic — call or request service.
Can I get rebates on a new heat pump?
Often yes — Carrier Cool Cash and utility programs may apply to qualifying equipment. See our promotions page and ask during your estimate.
